Bob Ingeno
Guitar/Bass Guitar
Bob has been playing guitar for over 30 years and has been teaching guitar for over 25 years. He has taught hundreds of students from the ages of 8 to 80 in all styles including Rock, Fingerstyle and Classical.
Bob began lessons on the guitar at The Music Box in Meriden at the age of 13 with James Fetta. From there Bob continued his instruction on Modern/Jazz guitar with Fred Pascucci of Waterbury, CT. While still in high school Bob began studying guitar at the Hartt School of Music with Alan Spriestersbach enrolling at Hartt as a guitar major/piano minor the following year. Bob received his Bachelor of Music degree in 1977 in instrumental performance on guitar with an emphasis on teaching. While at Hartt Bob was also highly influenced by other instructors including Richard Provost, Joseph Iadone, Jackie McLean and Moshe Paranov to name a few. Bob has attended master classes with world renowned guitarists/composers Oscar Ghiglia, John Duarte and Carlos Barbosa-Lima.
Along the way Bob has performed in various musical situations from rock bands to jazz/rock bands to bluegrass groups to classical solo performances and ensemble playing. Bob also plays and teaches the bass guitar. Bob is currently a member of the Connecticut Guitar Society and the Hartford Jazz Society.
Besides becoming excellent guitarists, Bob also wants his students to be all around great musicians and therefore teaches them theory, note reading, rhythm, phrasing, harmony, chord construction and progressions, scales and and ear training among other things. Bob also exposes his students to many different kinds of musical styles and traditions.
